Well, first of all "I really must say, (E.Grimley)" some people are even better than I am at putting their feets where there mouths are.

Here we have a politician:

"My biggest mistake is having a fundamental assumption that in the state of Louisiana, with an $18 billion budget, in the country of the United States that can move whole fleets of aircraft carriers across the globe in 24 hours, that my fundamental assumption was get as many people to safety as possible, and that the cavalry would be coming within two to three days, and they didn't come."
— New Orleans Mayor - Ray Nagin

There should have been more help. Yep. Bush has accepted responsibility for them not being there sooner. Who's fault is it that there was not more done to prepare before?

This Tid-Bit taken from the Naval Technology facts:
The NIMITZ-classcarrierss two nuclear reactors give her virtually unlimited range and endurance and a top speed in excess of 30 knots.
Conversion table for knots to miles per hour
KTS to MPH
5 Knots = 5.8 MPH
10 Knots = 11.5 MPH
15 Knots = 17.3 MPH
20 Knots = 23.0 MPH
25 Knots = 28.8 MPH
30 Knots = 34.6 MPH
35 Knots = 40.3 MPH

So, 40MPH will get you how far "across the globe" in 24 hours?

Hmm, 40 x 24 = 960 miles. Across the globe is how many miles?.
Going from New York to London, Distance 3014 NM, at 40MPH
That is a little over 3 DAYS.

How many hurricanes have left this level of devastation in the past twenty years? None.
Is our Government in the business of saving entire areas as large as the United Kingdom? No, not so far.

Who has come to their aid? Who has been recorded as the first responders?

Among them you will find a majority are Christians.

Have you heard the Red Cross want to change their name because of the implications associated with the term "Cross". Some rumers were Red Star? Perhaps it should be red cresant of acceptance.

I guess that is their Cross to bear.

Many were at fault.

The most horrible negligence to speak of, is that of the individuals who chose to stay there. It was with "faith in the technology" that has protected them in the past they stayed.

Another point of view is that we as a people have lost the "Instinct" to survive. We want 'The Government' to save us. Most of those people "stranded" in New Orleans could have walked out of there. A mere 30miles North and they would have been able to get help.
